Last week I was told I have the nicest skirts. I do favour skirts, mostly because I'm petite and don't want to shell out the whopping $7 to hem every pair of pants I buy. Ok, maybe I'm just too lazy to take them in to be hemmed and impatient waiting for them to be ready. There are places that say they can hem them in an hour but they are LIARS! (Kelly Ripa turned me on to cropped pants - not personally, I don't actually know her - but I haven't found many that I like.) Since fall is my favourite time of year to shop, it's going to be extremely challenging because I'm really loving the skirts I've been seeing for fall, especially the "midi" pleated ones. (I know I'm petite and not supposed to wear certain lengths, but I don't listen. I think if you pair it with the right top, belt, shoes, you can make it work.) But I know I have about 15 skirts for fall in my closet. Two challenges for fall: 1) To wear every skirt I have at least twice, or donate/sell them once and for all. No more, "I might wear this in the future some time...maybe...I think I will...I mean it still fits so why wouldn't I?"; and 2) I need to figure out what I actually "need" unlike what I normally do, which is shop without a real purpose, overspend and be left with a lot of new pieces but nothing to pair them with or pieces similar to what I already have. (Seriously, I bought 6 blue and white striped pieces this summer. 6!?) One might argue I don't "need" any skirts if I have 15 in my closet (and I agree, somewhat) so I might only be able to justify buying only one - a style that's missing from my closet. Now, which one to choose.

Leather
I did just sell my (faux) leather skirt on eBay so I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to replace what was once in my closet without it really counting as a purchase.
LOVE this look!
Feather skirt anyone? I'm not going to lie, I LOVE this! (I'm definitely missing one of these from my closet.)
