Wear Me Already: Marc Jacobs Purple and Fuchsia Peep Toe Pumps

It was end of June/July, 2005.  We drove from California to Vegas as part of our honeymoon.  On our (really, my) first shopping trip in Vegas, I walked into Neiman Marcus (which created a new obsession) and there they were - gorgeous Marc Jacobs purple and fuchsia peep toe pumps.  I'm pretty sure I knew I was going to buy them before I even saw the price or tried them on.  The fact that I love pink, the two colours together, the style of the shoe.... I could never imagine looking at these and not wanting to wear them because they're "not in style".  I just thought they were one-of-a-kind.  So I bought them and couldn't wait for fall to arrive just so I could wear them.  Other shoes have come close but, in the end, these will always be my favourite.  I wore them all the time and even reminisced about how I used to run for my train in them.  But I don't dress up for work as much as I used to and I have back pain, again - at the ripe old age of 32, so I don't wear heels as much as I used to.  Especially owning as many wedges as I do. But I couldn't just let them sit in the closet any longer, so I was going to deal with the pain.  It was raining in the morning so I wore my rain boots to work (also Marc Jacobs). At first it was a bit rough but then I got used to them and, thankfully, had no back pain.  I guess the key is not to run for the train in them.  I also learned that lesson after I took a dive in front of a bus full of people.  Maybe that's why I stopped wearing heels?

Confession: Earlier I said I was missing a colour in my closet for fall: anything in the berry shade i.e., purple.  But after actually looking through my closet, I did find a few (7!) things in my closet that are berry shade.  But I had already purchased this sweater. Oops!  This is why I know I have a problem.
